Château La Coste Grand Vin (Red) 2021 - RecommendedMid depth to deep opaque purple. Surprisingly restrained on the nose initially, opening up to slightly smoky raisined fruit, juicy blackberries, and inky notes. The palate is dark, incredibly inky, austere, and saline. Textural first and foremost, it offers lots of fruit, firm minerality, and great concentration. Still very youthful, closed, and tight, it may open up and certainly shows potential, feeling sort of made according to a textbook. However, it currently lacks a bit of soul and humility, presenting as highly tannic and noticeably dried out.
