Château La Martinette Côtes de Provence (Red) 2023 - OutstandingOpaque ruby. Hints of blue-grey and green damson fruit mixed with dark blue fruit, dark berries, hedgerow fruit, leather, and dark spice. aromas. The palate is firmly ripe and confidently extracted, showing lots of dark blue fruit, a hint of purple violets and some saline mineral elegance. Tannins are firm, grippy, tight, and classical with a lightly chalky edge, balanced by plenty of warm Syrah fruit and powerful acidity. Typical of Provence, the flavour of oak is absent, acting more as a supporting structure. Serious but energetic, with youthful big up-front fruit simplicity, finishing with some complex black ink and wild fennel. Very traditional but exceptionally appealing; this is real Provence in a glass.
