Semi-translucent ruby. Very traditional, almost old-school aromas of red fruit, plums, dark hedgerow fruit, and hints of raisins. The palate features sour red berry fruit that moves a bit more towards blackberries and black cherries as it opens up. Dark, inky, and very serious with mineral tannins that are subtly drying. It boasts lovely concentration with gutsy tannins and confident, rigorous extraction. Nice, classic, and moreish, if a slightly unexceptional old-school Provence red. This isn't beachfront Provence; it's Cézanne Provence in winter.
