Domaine de la Mongestine Les Monges (Red) 2024 - Highly RecommendedSemi-translucent ruby. Perfumed red fruit. Elegant, almost ethereal, even cloud-like on the palate, with elegant tannins that seem to float above the rest of the wine. Concentrated and full-bodied but still pretty, lacy, dripping in peppery spice, fresh ginger and cedarwood. Vibrant acidity leading to textured, slightly phenolic tannins on the finish. Tight, concentrated, powerful and exceptionally youthful - give this a year to harmonise, at least. Slightly mineral on the finish, silky but firm. Fresh, concentrated and behind-the-scenes powerful.
