Domaine de Tara Hautes Pierres (Red) 2020 - OutstandingMostly opaque. Beeswax, dark hedgerow fruit, a hint of slightly overripe melon, mango and papaya. Bursting with tropical richness as well as classically serious red fruit, leather, spice, a hint of butcher shop and some garrigue. Saline dry wild red berry fruit with mouthwatering acidity. This is really a mouthful of wild sour berries, sloes and pith acidity. Redder, fresher, more recognisably southern French, but with a surprisingly rugged, firm, chewy mineral tannic core. Smooth textured, dynamic with firm dark tannins giving power to the structure. Seriously gutsy, seriously classy. Moreish and a bit of a show-stopper.
