Domaine la Tourraque Taillat (Red) 2023 - OutstandingSemi-translucent garnet. Red fruit with herbal notes, a hint of leather, spice, black pepper, and cedar on the nose. Fresh, crunchy red berry fruit on the palate shows an almost cool-climate crunchiness that initially does not taste very Provencal. It opens out with time and temperature to reveal more intense, round, black mineral fruit ripeness and sweet cedary notes from oak. Wonderfully juicy acidity is lifted by charming violets and a slightly woody, earthy sweetness on the finish. Shows silky sophistication with fine powdery, slightly drying pencilly tannins. Beautifully fresh and modern but still rich, enticing, and complex. Intense and exciting; benefits from decanting.
