Marrenon Les Villages Perchés (Red) 2022 - Highly RecommendedRuby red to semi-opaque ruby. Vanilla, lots of blueberries, lots of spice, chocolatey molasses, chocolate digestives and fudge on the nose. Very floral and very mineral on the palate with some fine dry lavender mineral tannins. Inky, moreish, chewy and velvety. Incredibly textural. Quite ethereal and very different, not a blockbuster but beautifully elegant. Classy southern French Syrah, Provence-style done right. Would have liked to see a bit more depth and another dimension other than just big chewy chocolate, but who am I to complain? Long freshness.
