Mira Luna Coteaux Varois en Provence (White) 2024 - OutstandingTasted by Elizabeth Gabay MW & Ben Bernheim

Very pale lemon white. Restrained, slightly flinty aromas. Initially very closed, tight and concentrated on the palate, opening up to creamy, waxy white flowers, lots of beeswax and ripe, intense, opulent white tropical fruit and salted lemon freshness. Crisp, clean with some pithy acidity and minerality. Beautiful intensity, serious weight and complexity. Oak on the palate is absolutely masterful, providing structure, depth and gravitas. An almost mouthwatering edginess in a dry martini way. Beautifully classy, without overwhelmingly one-dimensional fruit or oak taking over. Refreshing enough for summer, complex enough for the rest of the year. Ends on delicate almond blossom, weighty nuttiness and beautifully ripe orchard fruit. Perfect with some salty olives.
