Vignerons du Mont Ventoux (VMV) Ventoux (White) 2023 - Highly RecommendedVery pale gold to pale lemon. Subtle honeyed notes, gently powdery lemon aromas and some pretty white stone fruit on the nose. Softness and steely minerality combined on the palate. Remarkably fresh, delicate, elegant and almost lacy. Quite a tight wine, the acidity of Ventoux is powerful and needs powerful fruit to hold it in control. Saline mineral acidity rather than citrus, with pretty floral fruit held in restraint. Just a hint of slightly smoky oak on the finish really lifts the wine and bumps it up a notch in terms of complexity. Serious, moreish, classy and refreshing without being unripe. Great southern white.
