Moulin de la Roque La Ragle (Red) 2020 - RecommendedMid red to semi-opaque. Stewed fruit on the nose, alongside fairly restrained, subtle, slightly chewy hedgerow fruit, damsons and sloes. Dark red fruits, sour tannins and crisp acidity meet refined, elegant fruit with black pepper and hints of menthol and garrigue on the finish. Definitely a wine that tiptoes around cautiously. Not too much fruit, not too much acidity, although the tannins are definitely on the tighter, chalkier side. Crisp and elegant, but highly extracted and slightly bitter - very much an old-school Bandol.
