Sylvain Morey La Bastide du Claux Panorama (Red) 2023 - RecommendedBright cherry red with semi-translucent ruby edges. Yeasty blueberry fruit and a little simple, tooty-fruity, lightly floral bubblegummy fresh red fruit aromas on the nose - think chilled summery red or cab mac Beaujolais. On the palate, a youthful Syrah-type red with lots of zippy, very fresh acidity. Fresh, simple, easy drinking, but showing the perils of harvesting too early to maintain freshness, leaving some slightly leafy, grippy, and drying dark blue chalky mineral phenolic tannins on the finish. Pleasant enough as a chilled summer red.
