Semi-translucent with lightly brickish edges. A bit reduced on the nose - somewhat surprising, but clearing off quite quickly. On the palate, oak is surprisingly sweet, with vanilla and white flowers dominating rather than red fruit or cherries. Tannins are a little gravelly and heady, well-extracted but balanced by very pretty floral acidity. Light, elegant - and a solid stab at modernising the category.

Quite a bit of youthful spice and vanilla on the nose. A hint of reduction. Beautifully fresh fruit at first, pure and exciting. Well-extracted Italian tannins with an intense ripeness and juiciness to them. Lasting chalky tannins. Pretty, energetic, fresh.
