Capanna Brunello di Montalcino Riserva (Red)

Semi-translucent, brickish edges. Lots of violets and red cherries. Surprisingly, this is more fruit-driven than their non-Riservas. Expect pretty floral red berries, a hint of tobacco, surprisingly elegant and refined sandy tannins. Pretty weight, nice grip, plenty of black fruit. Traditional but by no means unpleasant. It's clearly Italian, it's clearly a Riserva - but this is oddly so much more approachable than their non-Riservas. I'd have a glass or three of this.
