  Translucent, brick edges. Remarkably perfumed on the nose. Violets, roses, vanilla. Almost toffee, caramel, cream, red berries and strawberries. Strawberries, cream and vanilla continues on the palate - confusing! Tannins are very drying, but backed up by remarkably fesh and juicy berry fruit. Energetic, really quite plasantly fruity, youthful and a little zippy. Lovely weight and acidity. Rather delightful. So fresh and juicy! Woud not have believed this to be a stuffy and boring Riserva Brunello.

  Caprili Adalberto Riserva (Red) 2018 - OutstandingTasted by Elizabeth Gabay MW & Ben Bernheim

  Lots of ripe cherry fruit. Some cooked strawberries. Surprisingly, a subtle hint of reduction. Some leatheriness and spice. Cinammon. Nutmeg, ginger - lots of spice. Surprisingly high alcohol on the palate, cut through with a very vibrant, energetic herbal menthol freshness. Very chalky tannins, quite drying, mouth-coating. A little high on the alcohol and extraction, but balanced by concentration, intensity and complexity. Really beautiful wine that is categorically not ready to drink.
