Fanti Brunello di Montalcino (Red)

Translucent brickish. Intense herbal, floral, red fruit. Lots of red cherries, red berries. Round, rich, quite opulent - almost decadent even. On the palate, this richness continues, with velvet (but still remarkably Italianate) tannins, plenty of crunchy acidity, lots of black chocolate, and a really outstandingly fresh vibrancy. This is almost like biting into an unripe Granny Smith in terms of acidity, and yet somehow balancd by oodles of juicy redcurrant fruit, minerality, and lots of concentration. Yummy. Modern and exciting, while still being recognisably Brunello.
