Fossacolle Brunello di Montalcino Riserva (Red)

Semi-opaque garnet. Lots of chocolate and coffee on the nose, subtle minerality. A nice amount of fruit on the palate, with some redcurrants, and softly cooked raspberries. Some sour cherries. More concentrated fruit and a bit more acidity (there is actually quite a lot I think) render this somewhat more tolerable on the palate than their non-Riserva, with some pretty pencil shavings and a hint of complexity - but tolerable is very much the word I'm looking for. I don't think I'd ever choose to drink, let alone enjoy.
