Franco Paceti Brunello di Montalcino Riserva (Red)

Erring a little worryingly on brown rather than brickish. Restrained on the nose, other than a little pot pourri. Pretty and floral on the palate, with really extraordinarily vibrant acidity backing up traditional, but very refined and linear tannins. Lovely energy and concentration. Definitely a structure-driven wine that I think will be really exciting in a few years, even if personally I would have been keen to see just a little bit more fruit and joie-de-vivre. Lovely sugared almonds and almond blossom on the finish. Really rather pretty.
