Beautifully perfumed on the nose, with lots of fruit and just a hint of sweet ripe fruit. Floral, elegant, lacy. On the palate, almond blossom, pretty red cherries. Really fresh and jubilantly juicy. Tannins are fresh, powerful, very extracted - almost too much, but the floral laciness has put me in such a good mood that I'm willing to look past it. It's really so wonderfully delicate and elegant despite that fruity concentration that I really can't complain. Pretty, elegant, floral, sharply tannic, lots of acidity, lots of red fruit, lots of red cherries - rather lovely.

La Fornace Brunello di Montalcino (Red) 2019 - OutstandingTasted by Elizabeth Gabay MW & Ben Bernheim

Pot pourri, dried roses, rosewater, dried violets. A little figgy. Some VA. Lots of red cherries. Red fruit, pretty red cherries. Lovely intensity, crunchy tannins. Complex, concentrated, intense, interesting. Combines the old-worlde charm of slightly figgy over-extracted fruit with elegance and balance and charm. I think the key is that this doesn't feel like an acidified VA bomb, it's just balanced, and doesn't do too much of aything.
