La Poderina Brunello di Montalcino (Red)

Hints of white flowers, ginger, oak. Blackberries, black cherries. Remarkably supple tannins on the palate - they're big, they're powerful, but they're softened around the edges and just barely wrapped in velvet. Pretty minerality, lots of blue fruit, some cherries, lots of hedgerow fruit. Energising and full-bodied. Great concentration, fantastic balance, high acidity softened by rather a lot of warming, charmingly boisterous alcohol. Modern and endearing.
