Poggio Antico Brunello di Montalcino Riserva (Red)

Slightly dark inky fruit, violets and orchard blossom. Some red cherries. On the palate, lots of chewy red cherries, juicy raspberries, cooked fruit-of-the-forest and chocolate - a mix of dark and white. Yummy on the nose, and on the palate too, with chewy, complex and concentrated tannins, just enough acidity to cover the opulently ripe dark fruit, and alcohol that is rich and sort of fels like it's keeping a secret - there are layers of complexity here that feel like they need to be pried open with age. Very pretty wine, serious and classy .
