2020
Ridolfi Donna Rebecca (Red) 2020 - 92Twiglets, coffee, toffee, black chocolate - is this perfectly clean? Some pot pourri, and maybe a bit too much VA for some. On the palate, lovely richness: jammy red fruit, a hint of herbal menthol, lots of jammy alcohol providing richness and weight. Wasn't so sure of this at first, as it seemed a little disappointing and out-of-it, but the finish on the palate (especially as it opens up) is really magical: lovely weight, alcohol and ripeness. Tannins once again taking a backseat to the acidity. Modern, powerful, concentrated, exciting and refreshing. I'm willing to forgive any question marks for that sheer power that doesn't involve making this soupy or heavy.
