    Ridolfi Mercatale (Red) 2019 - 94

Lots of black fruit and a hint of muscovado on the nose. Big and intense, plummy. Tannins are much more present, and only just softened by the fruit, acidity and alcohol. Feels quite boomy and boisterous, but in a way that dels like it's almost lost its sense of direction. Ridolfi seem to be so brilliant at acidity-first wines that somehow making a wine driven by tannins is beyond them. That being said, the sheer power and concentration is mind-blowing. Wow. Love just how much intensity is hiding behind this wine. The more I think about it and it breaths, the more I think this is actually a masterpiece.
