    Château de Clapier Soprano (Red) 2021 - Highly RecommendedTasted by Elizabeth Gabay MW & Ben Bernheim

    Garnet red. Restrained at first, opening up to rather snazzy red fruit, exuberant herbal notes, cloves, floral notes, and crunchy garrigue. Red cherries, strawberries, and fresh red berry acidity are backed by a surprising concentration hidden behind the delicacy. From one of the coolest parts of Provence, where Alpine winds blowing down the Durance are funnelled right past the vineyards, and it shows. Fresh, zazzy, crunchy, and dripping in red fruit with beautifully integrated ripe tannins. Hints of cedar and pine resin lead to a slightly woody and herbal finish. Chalky, vibrant, mineral, beautifully fruity, and very pretty.
