Château de Roquefort Les Mures (Red) 2022 - RecommendedSemi-opaque ruby. Bright fresh red berries, black fruit, sweet smokiness, hints of bright violets, and lots of struck match and leathery Syrah typicity. The palate offers black cocoa richness, vibrant crunchy fresh red fruit, slightly leafy garrigue, menthol, and wild fennel. A black inky core with high altitude freshness and crisp, taut acidity. The 15% ABV on the label is truly a shock, as it doesn't taste like it. A very modern, nice wine, though feeling slightly one-dimensional, where the slightly chalky tannins have dried it out somewhat on the finish. Price would be a consideration.
