Caves São Joao Quinta do Poço do Lobo Bairrada (Rosé) 2025 - OutstandingHere the addition of Pinot Noir adds some softness to the Baga, especially coming from vineyards very close to the sea and which do not struggle to ripen. Pale salmon pink with slightly perfumed aromatics and pretty crunchy red fruit. Quite opulent, with unusually generous body and alcohol, rich and softly fruity, Pink grapefruit freshness with a tiny hint of pink pepper, and crisp, chalky phenolics contributing a pretty delicacy and a touch of rosewater. Extremely pretty and complex, textured and using oak invisibly and a little bashfully. A real role model for rosés that want depth and complexity without letting oak dominate. perhaps needing to be chilled a little more to help subdue the alcohol.
