Château L’Ermite d’Auzan Sainte Cécile (Rosé) 2024 - OutstandingVibrant coral-ruby pink, almost Cerasuolo-coloured. New oak on the nose, absolutely bursting with spice, garrigue, wild fennel, bucketloads of raspberries and cherries, and soft, ripe, almost jammy fruit with subtle beeswax aromas. On the palate, lots of sour red berry fruit, taut sour hedgerow and redcurrant acidity meet biting blue fruit and a dark mineral structure. Firm dry tannins provide genuine lift, a real backbone, and darker weight on the mid-palate, finishing with a slightly blunt, chalky drive to the length. Striking, electric acidity pushes this into a much fuller-bodied, rounder, and riper expression in the summer red, clarete style. A wine for those who do not like pale rosé - so concentrated, so driven, so fruity and spiced! Absolutely stunning wine that encapsulates the energy of the galets roulés. These light red tannins make it a great gastronomic wine during the summer. Drink warmer than most rosé, serve in a bigger glass, and enjoy.
