Vina Zorzal Señora de las Alturas (Rosé) 2023 - ExceptionalTasted by Elizabeth Gabay MW & Ben Bernheim

Pink copper-coral pink. Hints of oak on the nose. Jaw-droppingly beautiful on the palate: piercing acidity, crystalline, glassy fruit with a light mineral edge and hints of blue minerality. A bloody serious rosé, embracing structure with vibrant juicy acidity, fine tannins and redcurrant fruit, strawberry sorbet and barely ripe raspberries, perhaps blackcurrant too. Herbal, lightly aromatic notes of wild fennel, no nuttiness, just fine linear elegance. Crisp, intense, powerful and textured, opting for precision and tannic grip over richness and opulence, ending on chalky tannins. A bit more fruit than aromatic complexity, but a stellar wine.
