    Proelio La Cuvée de Finca la Esperilla Reserva (Rosé) 2023 - ExceptionalTasted by Elizabeth Gabay MW & Ben Bernheim

    Bright copper coral pink. Elegant, restrained aromas, winter jasmine and a whisper of rosewater, with fresh raspberries and dark cherries. Intense sour cherries, wild hedgerow fruit and fraise de bois follow on the palate, an abundance of juicy fruit, yet not a fruit forward wine, balanced by firm, long vibrant acidity. The mid-palate is where the party starts: this wine screams texture, concentration and structure. Well-integrated tannins, powerful but beautifully balanced alcohol and weight of fruit, with firm, almost invisible oak giving depth. Whispered tannins lend length and rigour. A rosé for red wine drinkers, joyous and serious, sublime beyond simply being fruity.

We’re mother and son duo Elizabeth Gabay MW and Ben Bernheim. Between us, we’ve been involved in the wines of southern France for over 30 years.
