Cave Coopérative des Riceys Marquis de Pomereuil (Rosé) 2019 - OutstandingTasted by Elizabeth Gabay MW & Ben Bernheim

Slightly brickish garnet light red. Lots of juicy red fruit on the nose, with the sweet ripeness of slightly jammy redcurrants and red cherries. On the palate the fruit is opulently soft, and mature, with the scented notes of pot pourri, balanced by savoury, sour cherries, long acidity, and a saline concentration. More rosé than many, but almost a red wine in terms of weight and concentration, but without the tannins. Lots of vibrant fruit that transitions seamlessly to spice, subtle woody, leathery notes. Delightfully vibrant, exciting. Exceptionally ripe - almost decadent with its primary fruitfulness. Absolutely sublime. Tannins are present, slightly gravelly, but overall it's silky, fruity and exceptionally concentrated; the fruit and acidity are out of this world. Truly Burgundian.
