    An exceptionally exciting 50/50 Grenache Blanc and Grenache Noir blend, Libiamo is always one of our favourites. Mid depth copper pink. Subtle nutty oak aromas that evoke autumn sunshine. If there was ever a wine for garden lunches, to be drunk with richer summer meals for those who do not usually drink rosé, this wine is it. On the palate, spectacularly silky texture and beautifully integrated ripe hedgerow fruit, set against a backdrop of slightly inky mineral, firm tannins. Pithy, very vibrant acidity gives it a fine elegance and crisp textural freshness. Fruit is powerful, linear but fabulously ripe and confident. The firm tannins suggest it is still youthful with many years ahead for ageing. A concentrated, classy, driven fine wine. One of the few Tavels to proudly use exclusively new oak, to fabulous results.

We’re mother and son duo Elizabeth Gabay MW and Ben Bernheim. Between us, we’ve been involved in the wines of southern France for over 30 years. Elizabeth started working with the wines of Provence back in 1986, and for the past 20 years has lived on the eastern edge of south-east France. We’ve worked on three books on rosé: Rosé Understanding the Pink Wine Revolution (2018), Elizabeth Gabay’s Buyers Guide to the Rosés of Southern France (2021 e-guide) and, most recently Rosés of Southern France (2022).
