    Opaque dark purple. Dark blue spicy aromas, a hint of truffle, mushroom, forest floor and violets. Pretty, with lots of Syrah leatheriness verging on reduction. Saline, powerful, linear and tightly controlled. Love the mineral salinity, the dark blue fruit and spice. Lots of acidity and slightly hard, firmly textured youthful tannins. Very big, very tight, very closed. Remarkable freshness and black minerality, mouthwatering and energetic. An almost cool-climate rigour against a backdrop of very ripe fruit. Classy wine that is definitely not just another Southern Rhone.
