Maximo Abete La Rosa (Rosé) 2023 - Highly RecommendedStill very youthful, this dark coppery salmon pink has restrained aromas of pretty white flowers, stone fruit and hints of creamy lees and oak. Quite tight and closed on the palate opening out to reveal lightly floral notes and full bodied and crunchy wild redcurrants and taut wild raspberries giving a slightly pithy and fresh acidity. Textured, gravelly, linear structure, and a slightly black, inky salinity on the finish. The elegant austerity of this wine pointing away from the fuller bodied Navarran style and towards the more modern, Provençal-inspired mineral 'gris' style rosés.
