    Quinta da Gaivosa Rosé da Gaivosa (Rosé) 2025 - RecommendedTasted by Elizabeth Gabay MW & Ben Bernheim

    A really interesting wine, as this is the younger sibling or second wine to Quinta da Gaivosa's famous Celeste. Pale golden pink to very pale shell, almost blanc taché. Creamy white aromas with leafy spice, black pepper and inky liquorice, black tarry fruit. Oak gives a somewhat short bluntness at first, opening out in the glass to reveal greater oaky richness. Unripe fruit and a touch of slightly grassy gooseberries give tremendous freshness and linearity. Crisp, crunchy, acidulated palate with some raspberries and slightly sour, long austere minerality on the finish. A little phenolic and drying, a little more fruit would make this a bit more interesting; would like to see it in a year or two.
