Bomont de Cormeil Coteaux du Verdon (Var IGP) (Rosé) 2025 - Highly RecommendedVery pale pink. Very floral aromas on the nose - thanks to the Viognier, even if it no longer makes up a huge proportion of the blend - opening up to incredibly concentrated pretty white peaches, white citrus and a hint of salinity. On the palate, the Viognier also contributes a touch of oiliness which can distract from the freshness, especially in hotter vintages, Nevertheless, it is beautifully concentrated, dripping in elegantly restrained fruit, intense and driven, with some nice dark fruit emerging contributing to the depth and weight. The fat ripeness is balanced by some precise, elegant, and crystalline acidity giving a crunchy citrus finish jostleing with a softened saline edge. Still one of the best expressions of the Coteaux du Verdon terroir and its signature freshness.
