Xavier Vignon Ventoux (Red) 2023 - OutstandingTasted by Elizabeth Gabay MW & Ben Bernheim

Moderate depth ruby. Juicy wild raspberry fruit, black chocolate, vibrant acidity, blue minerals, florals, mouthwatering tannins. Slightly cooked, slightly jammy hedgerow fruit, some fruit of the forest. Pretty fruit-driven tannins, zippy acidity. Very pretty and fresh. Slightly gravelly towards the finish, but a beautiful compromise of fresh and accessible fruit with some elegant and delicate tannins. Ticks all the boxes, vibrant and fresh, rich and powerful, lacking in complexity but plenty of fruit.
