Semi-translucent ruby. Fairly restrained on the nose with blue violets, herbal notes, vegetal freshness, and the tiniest whisper of garrigue. The palate shows blue mineral fruit, some sour black fruit, and quite a bit of oak providing subtle sweetness and pepperiness. Lots of crunchy berries with juicy, pithy, and vibrant acidity. Beautifully textured and concentrated with a lovely dark inkiness. The tannins are barely ripe, chalky, very rough-textured, tight, and drying. Lots of freshness, but it raises the question of whether it has enough richness. Torrefaction and a hint of cacao mark the finish. Rather pretty.
