Alain Baccino et Filles Château La Tulipe Noire Côtes de Provence (Red) 2023 - OutstandingTasted by Elizabeth Gabay MW & Ben Bernheim

Deep dark purple, opaque garnet. Rich ripe dark black fruit, very leafy and inky on the nose with liquorice, violets, mineral and floral notes. Powerful mineral freshness on the palate. Blue-black vibrant minerality and beautiful, very serious, disciplined black fruit. Beautiful balance with ripe fruit and mineral, linear, elegant acidity. Tannins are firm and wonderfully integrated. Very youthful, full of energy, dark, inky and very Mourvèdre, but still ripe, charming and bursting with fruit. Almost New World in its opulence with bucketloads of wild bramble fruit. A pleasure to taste - absolutely the sort of red you would want on a rainy autumn day.
