Château Carpe Diem Campagne (Red) 2024 - OutstandingTasted by Elizabeth Gabay MW & Ben Bernheim

Bright cherry red. Blue floral spice on the nose, generously reductive and flinty, but softened by lots of red fruit and pretty floral charm. Smooth silky dark blue and purple mineral fruit. Wildly crisp, floral and utterly charming on the palate. Thirst-quenching, fun and fruity. Chewy, mouthwatering saline blueberry and fine mineral acidity. Encapsulates the laissez-faire joie-de-vivre of Provence; there is so much vibrancy and fun, so much fruit and so much acidity so beautifully integrated. Rarely have we tried a more refreshing, thirst-quenching and genuine red wine that still maintains real personality, depth and concentration.

About us

We’re mother and son duo Elizabeth Gabay MW and Ben Bernheim. Between us, we’ve been involved in the wines of southern France for over 30 years. Elizabeth started working with the wines of Provence back in 1986, and for the past 20 years has lived on the eastern edge of south-east France. We’ve worked on three books on rosé: Rosé Understanding the Pink Wine Revolution (2018), Elizabeth Gabay’s Buyers Guide to the Rosés of Southern France (2021 e-guide) and, most recently Rosés of Southern France (2022).
