Château de Beaupré Façon Phanette Cool de Source! (Red) 2023 - OutstandingBright ruby red. Generously flinty reductive red fruit on the nose, energetic, zesty and firm, with creamy red garrigue notes. On the palate, sweet ripe bramble fruit, exceptionally sweet soft ripe wild strawberries and slightly jammy raspberries - almost at odds with the fresh youthful flintiness of the nose. Pithy wild hedgerow berries and grippy garrigue tannins. Plenty of spice and really remarkably ripe, opulent fruit. Mouthwatering edgy wild ripe berry acidity and beautifully elegant, driven, linear and shockingly disciplined acidity. I love the contrast between the ripe depth of the fruit, the driven acidity and the devil-may-care charm. A long saline finish, providing mouthwatering and thirst-quenching freshness. Plenty of sunshine, as elegant and refreshing as the rosés, but still concentrated and fruit-driven. Lovely weight, balance and vibrant tension. Absolutely delightful.
