Château de Brégançon Cuvée Louise Cru Classé (White) 2024 - OutstandingTasted by Elizabeth Gabay MW & Ben Bernheim

Vibrant, intense lime yellow showcasing ripe La Londe fruit. This is a powerful and commanding wine, almost new world in style, with confident new oak, sweet vanilla and powerful, long, ripe lemon acidity. Tropical floral notes on the nose are supported by pretty garrigue, eucalyptus and wild fennel on the palate. It is big, fresh and decadent, with the oak providing weight and a certain tannic grip. While its bold, mouth-filling and substantial nature might be controversial to some, it is a mind-blowingly serious wine that takes a successful swing at white Burgundy. It is perhaps not the most refined of wines, but if you are looking for a big, bold white to go with roast chicken, this is the wine.
