Château de Brégançon La Reserve Cru Classé (Red) 2023 - OutstandingDark purple ruby red. Restrained on the nose initially, opening up to lovely deep dark dense fruit, blue flowers, violets, and dark plums. The palate explodes into blackberries, cassis, and perfumed hedgerow fruit with slightly leafy, vegetal notes despite the dark ripeness. Concentrated and fresh, featuring dark cocoa, black peppery inkiness, and fine blue mineral tannins. Tannins are firm and crisp but glossy and silky. Vibrant, ripe, and elegant. Bold, confident, powerful, solar, and muscular. On the youthful side, it would benefit from cellaring for the tannins to soften and integrate, with plenty of fruit, acidity, and concentration to allow this to age long-term very gracefully.
