Château de Sannes Castini (Rosé) 2023 - OutstandingTasted by Elizabeth Gabay MW & Ben Bernheim

Pale salmon pink. Subtle red berry fruit on the nose, a hint of inky minerality and a subtle hint of perhaps oaky reduction. Charmingly ripe lush cherry compote fruit with some vibrantly acid hedgerow fruit on the palate. Lots of crunchy red fruit and some dark hedgerow berries too. Ripe, full-bodied and opulent. A fair bit of alcohol supporting the fruit, balanced by juicy acidity and subtle spice. Silky tannins beautifully integrated and hiding behind the fruit. It is super pretty, beautifully full of rosé fruit, elegant, delicate, and really opens up towards dark spice, some wild fennel and more of that minerality on the finish. A rare rosé that spans everything from a classy pool party to a serious dinner. Fruit driven, ripe and rather gorgeous.
