Château des Sarrins Blanc de Rolle (White) 2025 - OutstandingTasted by Elizabeth Gabay MW & Ben Bernheim

Pale lemon-white. Quite a mute nose initially. Crisp, zesty green apples and green citrus. On the palate, there is some nice weight, fresh citrus minerality and a hint of florals, nuts and white orchard fruit - pears and apples rather than peach. The tiny amount of oak is almost imperceptible but gives a touch of extra weight mid-palate. I was cautious at first, but this just grows and grows on me. Lovely cat's tongue texture, mouth-filling weight and lovely freshness. Still very young, but it has excellent potential to develop. A wine that shows Rolle can be young, zesty, fresh and zippy while still achieving charm, weight and the beginnings of complexity.
