Semi-translucent ruby. Slightly smoky leathery notes and butchershop aromas on the nose. This is a wine that will divide opinion between those who find its heavy oak treatment too overt, and those who embrace its internationally fashionable charm and richness. The palate offers lots of black fruit, crunchy and berry-driven with raspberries, blackberries, a hint of elderberries, and some perfumed rosehips. Lovely acidity and crunchy tannins balance seriously ripe fruit. Some rather pretty sweet new oak adds extra complexity, warmth, and richness. A real joy and a glass full of sunshine.
