Château Pigoudet Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence (Red) 2020 - OutstandingOpaque ruby. Restrained aromas of incense, dark damsons and berries, slightly musty forest floor, and cedar. Very traditional. The palate offers dark blue flowers, fine minerality, and linear freshness that gives a lacy veil of elegance to the deep, dark, concentrated fruit. Very elegant cool-climate freshness with exceptionally polished coffee and cacao notes. Extracted, velvety, and refined, with hints of inkiness lifting the coffee. The drying tannins on the finish have an earnest charm to them that is very easy to forgive. Classy. Oozing with fruit, beautiful complexity, textural and refined.
