  Translucent ruby. Very reductive struck match on the nose, some red fruit. Very juicy and refreshing, with vibrant acidity and lots of red fruit. Quite tight, structural and restrained, with surprisingly extracted and pippy tannins. Powerful, drying and slightly phenolic. To my taste, it lacks a little ripeness, and is only just making up for it with sheer intensity of fruit and grippy texture. Definitely a summer red for those who appreciate the minerality and occasional austerity of very pale Provence rosé, coupled with the struck match and structure of good Syrah - or, in this case, Cinsault. Especially if left to decant for a while, this becomes rather beguiling...
