Château Saint-Roux Pigeonnier (Red) 2023 - OutstandingMid to pale, semi-translucent ruby. You can smell the black pepper and leather as you pour the glass, along with black fruit, juicy raspberries and plums. The palate is mouthwatering, fresh, and crunchy, absolutely bursting with vibrant blue fruit, wild red berries, and fine mineral fruit. This is literally a glass squeezed full of Syrah, showing chewy gamey notes, vibrant acidity, and long silky freshness. Bubbly and effusive with so much life and excitement. Charming, and a wine that shows Provence isn't all over-extracted big old-fashioned reds, nor is it just zesty rosé.
