  Dark black purple. Muted, deep plum aromas that are quite ripe, slightly reductive and slightly cooked. Dark velvet, blue minerality and crunchy texture, there is supple blue-black fruit, juicy red berries, and some taut hedgerow fruit on the palate. The tannins are dark, a little plummy, very ripe and a little opulent, showing some serious alcohol that is well-covered by the fruit. A nice, big, bold, solar wine that does not shy away from intensity. Suave, beautifully supple and velvety, though it perhaps falls a touch short of greatness due to a slightly blunt, spirity finish.
