Domaine Dalmeran Chateau (Red) 2022 - OutstandingTasted by Elizabeth Gabay MW & Ben Bernheim

Light to mid depth, semi-opaque ruby. Leafy incense on the nose alongside leathery, gunflint, gamey and garrigue notes dripping in Syrah spice with a hint of violets. The palate offers lovely elegant freshness with silky and ripe black fruit. There is beautiful intensity that is surprisingly velvety and harmonious given the power of the nose. Concentrated, dark, and fruit-driven, offering summer wild raspberries, a touch of wild sloes, blackberries, and hedgerow fruit with a slightly inky finish. Unusually, a bit more Grenache (25%) than Cabernet (15%) leaves this very easy to drink with gently velvety tannins and fresh acidity. Rather exciting as a summer aperitif red.ga
