Domaine de Champ Long Argile (Red) 2023 - Highly RecommendedSemi-translucent, ruby edges. Muted aromas of red berries. Lots of incredibly juicy and expressive red berries on the nose, clearly fruit-driven rather than jammy. Very creamy ripe wild blackberries and raspberries, firm textured mouth-coating tannins, long fresh acidity. Incredible intensity with crisp, lightly chalky tannins. Very refined and lacy despite the power. A seriously exciting, classy wine with lots of ageing potential. Quite a serious wine, alcohol evident. It is a bit too rigid, a bit too extracted and a bit too intellectual to be easy to recommend, lacking that grab to drink more than one glass.
